The Computer Maker Analogy

 The Computer Maker Analogy

The Computer Maker Analogy is the anatomization of the inner-workings of the computer via the creationism context. To fully appreciate The Creator contextually, the dynamics of a computer's creation and operation will be adopted. The processes involved in a computer's operational lifecycle gives an insight into the process of creation. Typically, the computer has various interoperating units that make it function. Some of the main components include the Motherboard, Central Processing Unit (CPU), Random Access Memories (RAM), Hard Drive, Video/Graphics Card, Monitor and Processor.

The objective of mentioning these components is not to go into the academic depths of computer science. Rather, the crux of highlighting these units is to establish that, within a computer are various interoperable hardware and software components that assist with its functionality. Following a design process, a computer manufacturer or maker, makes a computer. During the manufacturing process, the computer and programs are tested for operability and functionality. To achieve the desired functional objectives, the computer maker creates a procedure that involves numerous intricate processes that work in tandem for the computer to function properly. The computer is a platform that makes it possible for a program to be executable. Executable programs can run on any platform, i.e., Supercomputer, Mainframe, Server, PC, Laptop, Netbook, Tablet, Smartphone and Microcontrollers. These various computers and platforms make up a system, operate as a matrix and are interconnected through a primary source – a maker. At this juncture, it must be emphasized that the computer maker is an entirely separate entity from the manufactured computers in whatever form. The essential objective is for the computer program to operate within the computer system, based on the computer maker's guidelines. Furthermore, the computer maker created the computer system; deals with any anomalous behaviour, and is aware of all the permissions, permutations and possibilities by all programs and processes operating within the system. Basically, the entire scope of all inputs or outputs, including source code, machine code or object code, and all specific outcomes are already known. The outcome of any choice of action is based on the available options, which are predetermined via a master flowchart or process map. As the computer program operates, many processes are initiated within the computer system. Also, the computer program permits certain developments, configurations and modifications within the limits of its environment – which is to the extent that the computer system allows. Due to these processes, so many other programs and subsystems have been created within the existing computer system. The interoperability and interdependencies of hardware and software within the system ensures functionality. Expectedly, as these programs evolve within the computer system, at some point, some of the emanating software may be oblivious of the existence of a computer maker that made the first computer and computer program that initiated the entire system in which they currently operate. They are oblivious of the reality that their current operating process is a consequence of an initiated process by a special designer – maker - creator. Relating the computer analogy to mankind, man can be likened to a computer program operating within a computer system. Man has been given some permissibility to evolve within the boundaries of the world in which he exists. The evolution has somewhat disillusioned man to the extent of being oblivious to the existence of his creator and by extension damning his very own existence as a mere creation.

Crucially, what must be emphatically stated is the inherent distinction, that man is a creation and is totally separate from The Creator. Also, The Creator is tasked with dealing with anomalous behaviour within the system. The computer system has its limitations, particularly because all computer programs, and ultimately the system, have a lifespan. Intermittently, there appears a code of ethics and guidance that advises the programs about the consequences of running certain operations. The computer programs' advisory states that if programs can abide by certain code of ethics, there is actually a better platform than the current environment. In this situation, adhering codes will be rewritten for super-operability in a better, highly advanced and flawless platform. On the flip side, if the computer programs reject the counsel from the programs' advisory, the computer programs will be eventually expunged and dumped where anomalous computer programs are abandoned. The programs' abandonment zone is not a very conducive environment and has been described as extremely hostile!

Based on the above premise, some potential scenarios can be expounded. There are two groups of programs (codes or software), given permission to operate with guidelines within the computer system. The computer maker has set primary objectives and tests. The primary objective is to allow the system to evolve – run its course, and through assessment, test those who would still believe they are a creation created by a creator. Some of the tests include distractions designed to derail computer programs from primary their objectives. By default, there are assuredly computer programs that will abide by the guidelines for their operability. Certainly, there are programs that will dismiss this notion of any prerequisite test; reject the programs' advisory and refuse to accept there is a maker responsible for their operability. The wayward computer programs tend to be hypnotized by the sophisticated operability of the computer system, despite apparent inadequacies.

In the human context, the two programs can be likened to two groups of human beings, created and given permission to exist within the world.  Similar to the computer, man is meant to operate with guidelines that are designed to assist with his worldly functionality. The test is to live and evolve in the world, and ultimately acknowledge that man and the environment in which man functions, are creations created by The Creator. Belief in The Creator is the ultimate test of man. Basically, if certain prescribed guidelines are complied with, and the test is passed, there is an elevation to the next level, a much better world – paradise – a blissful afterlife is guaranteed forever. Also, for those who choose not to abide by the guidelines, there are adverse consequences as well. With so many worldly distractions, it could be a very tough process accepting such a stark reality. Seemingly, the easier option is to just go with the flow – live life without rules! Just as certain programs reject the computer maker's guidelines, some human beings deny the existence of The Creator. Some of those who deny the existence of a creator may even request The Creator appears before them, as a prerequisite for believing in the existence of a creator. Imagine the absurdity of computer software asking for the person who created the software and the computer to appear before it! The thought of a man entering a computer system to reveal himself to computer software he created is ludicrous enough to appreciate the inanity. That is how absurd it is asking a creator to appear before its creation. The Creator can show various signs to his creation, but will definitely not appear physically, because of its illogicality and antitheticality to reason. It must be appreciated that God The Creator is completely different. A crucial part of the problem is the assumption that The Creator is a likening of the creation. Nothing could be farther from reality because the creator and creation are very separate entities. Just as the computer, including all of its components and the computer maker are two separate entities; man, and God are also separate entities – The Creator and the creation.

The main reason why some people find it difficult to understand the concept of God is because they cannot conceptualize God as The Creator. God The Creator is a sole entity without any equal or partnership; the Eternal and the only Absolute. The creator of everything that exists, including our overly complex world and all that is contained within it, and our planets and planetary systems and all that surrounds it; the universe and beyond – this life and the afterlife. Generally, those that fall into the denial category are not interested in an afterlife because they are too mesmerised by the trappings of the creation they currently abide, and the manifestations of that habitation. Ideally, those who deny the existence of The Creator need not worry about the consequences of rejection and the afterlife, but that is not always the case. Experience has established that the deniers are probably the most perturbed! Certainly, those in denial could be dismissive of the existence of The Creator, and question how it is possible to monitor the activities of everything – creation. The situation becomes more complicated for those who deny the existence of The Creator with the advent of technology – specifically recording technology.
